Eat this bread and drink from this cup
Till the day of the Lord is come,
When we cast our crowns 'round God's holy throne,
And we shout with the Risen One.
O my brother, O my sister, wait for the day to come.
Take this time to pray and keep watch,
While our master and savoir pleads,
"Father, not my will but yours be done.
From your cup I will surely drink."
O my brother, O my sister, wait for the day to come.
Will you wait by his cross with me?
Will you follow wherever it leads?
Though the way may call where our shadows fall,
Still a greater glory will be.
O my brother, O my sister, wait for the day to come.
We will work this day in the earth
Till the night bids all labor cease,
Then we'll gather into the banquet hall.
We will sup with the Prince of Peace.
O my brother, O my sister, wait for the day to come.
Eat this bread and drink from this cup
Till the day of the Lord is come,
When we cast our crowns 'round God's holy throne,
And we shout with the Risen One.
O my brother, O my sister, wait for the day to come.
